Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? We’ve got answers. Find everything you need to know about working with Certify Cargo.

What does a freight broker do?

A freight broker acts as an intermediary between shippers (businesses that need to move goods) and carriers (trucking companies). We don’t own trucks — instead, we leverage our network of vetted carriers to find the right truck for your freight at competitive rates. We handle the logistics, tracking, and communication so you can focus on your business.

Pricing depends on several factors: origin and destination, freight type, weight and dimensions, equipment required (dry van, reefer, flatbed), pickup date, and current market conditions. We provide transparent quotes with no hidden fees. For the most accurate pricing, submit a quote request with your shipment details.

For shippers, we typically offer standard payment terms of Net 30. For carriers, we offer standard terms and Quick Pay options. With Quick Pay, carriers can receive payment in as little as 24-48 hours after proof of delivery.

Yes, Certify Cargo is fully licensed and bonded. We hold an active MC (Motor Carrier) Authority and are registered with the FMCSA. We also carry a freight broker bond (BMC-84) as required by federal regulations. You can verify our credentials on the FMCSA website.

Once your shipment is booked, you’ll receive regular updates via email and/or phone. Our carriers are equipped with GPS tracking, and your dedicated representative can provide real-time location updates at any time. Just reach out, and we’ll let you know exactly where your freight is.

In the rare event of damage, we’re here to help you through the claims process. All carriers in our network carry cargo insurance, and we’ll work with you and the carrier to resolve the claim as quickly as possible. Document the damage with photos and notify us immediately.

We provide coverage across all 48 continental United States. Whether you’re shipping from California to New York or anywhere in between, we have carriers ready to move your freight.
